Bee Hoe Coffee: Caffeine & cuts (haircuts)

Now, this is a coffee spot that's unique enough for its 2-in-1 concept. Who knew a barbershop and a café would make such a charming pair? Bee Hoe Coffee is a cosy cafe that's on the other side of the barbershop (Autocutt Boardroom).

Originally a neighbourhood cafe based in Penang, Bee Hoe Coffee is a sort of homage to it now that it is gone. Tucked together front and back, we think this is such a clever way to make use of the gorgeous gigantic "backyard" space, harnessing that jungle vibe.

We honestly liked the carefree vibe of the backyard space. Bee Hoe Coffee’s hideaway makes you forget you’re in the middle of the busy streets of Joo Chiat. But if you’re more of a “help, I’m dying, give me aircon” kind of person (which we are), the indoor two-seater is your best bet... and yes, we hogged it.

Bee Hoe’s menu has some playful twists, like coconut flakes coffee and peanut butter coffee, alongside the classics. We checked with the locals (shoutout to Tribody Fitness), and turns out, both the café and the barbershop have a loyal following—both founders get their haircuts here. While we hoarded the indoor two-seater to dodge the heat, we noticed a steady flow of takeaway orders, a good sign of its popularity.

The stickers are as cute as the coffee

We enjoyed the coffee so much, but when they handed us a pair of adorable stickers, we decided that we liked them equally as much, if not better. Hee. One of us immediately stuck one on the back of our phone. It's that cute (and clever). Honestly, little surprises like these are what win our hearts, bit by little bit.
