If you’re into great coffee, tea, and photography, Café Leitz at Leica Store South Beach Quarter is a spot you’ll want to check out.

Nestled inside the iconic Leica Store (not to be confused with the one at Raffles Hotel), this unique café combines a sales shop, gallery, and coffeehouse into one immersive experience. Whether you're a Leica enthusiast, photography lover, or just looking for a fresh café to explore, here’s why Café Leitz is worth the visit!

A café inside a Leica store?

Café Leitz is part of Leica’s global push to blend coffee culture with photography, creating a space where like-minded people can enjoy visuals and brews. Let’s be real... luxury brands jumping on the café bandwagon is definitely a trend we're seeing a lot now, and honestly, we quite like the idea. For years, cafés inside bookstores and lifestyle stores have dominated the scene, so it's always interesting to see how cafés are popping up everywhere, even in luxury stores (kinda like weeds. But like, good weeds). It's also fun to have a little taste of the high life, even if the Leica cameras are a bit out of our price range? 😅 Hehe.

At Café Leitz, you can expect a little bit of everything. Coffee, tea, savoury and sweet pastry. While we didn’t try the coffee, the Rose Oolong was absolutely fantastic. Honestly, one cup wasn’t enough, and 10 cups probably still wouldn’t have satisfied our cravings for that refreshing, floral goodness. Along with the tea, we also sampled the smoked salmon quiche and wraps... and they were surprisingly good. Definitely a step above the usual chains.

It’s also a dream spot for photography lovers; while sipping your drink, you can browse the latest Leica cameras and accessories. The café doubles as a gallery too, showcasing stunning works from both local and international photographers. Despite being inside a retail space, Café Leitz exudes a calm, minimalist vibe, making it the perfect spot for a quiet break or a casual meeting.

Current exhibition: Emanuele Scorcelletti's Elegia Fantastica

If anyone knows how to capture time, memory, and emotion in a single frame, it’s Emanuele Scorcelletti. His latest series is a stunning exploration of how images can transcend generations and evoke deep emotions. Sure, Emanuele is known for his iconic celebrity shots, but this exhibition proves he's more than just the red carpet. In Elegia Fantastica, he steps away from the glamour and showcases his talent for black-and-white photography, offering a more intimate and thought-provoking perspective. It’s as if his camera can freeze quiet moments and make them just as powerful as the loudest ones.

Emanuele Scorcelletti’s Elegia Fantastica is on display now through 30 April 2025 at Leica Galerie, located inside Leica Store South Beach Quarter at 36 Beach Road, #01-01 South Beach Quarter, Singapore 189766. The gallery is open daily from 9:30am to 8pm.
